Psychological Testing (PT) and Neuropsychological Testing (NPT)

Licensed Psychologists at Still Waters are competent to conduct PT and NPT for a variety of clinical reasons. Psychological tests assess a range of mental abilities and attributes, including achievement and ability, personality, and neurological functioning. Both forms of testing can be used to enhance psychotherapy treatment outcomes. For instance, testing may be needed to aid in the assessment of cognitive impairment due to medical or psychiatric conditions.  Examples of situation that may necessitate PT could include, aiding in the diagnosis of behavioral or psychiatric conditions, or developing treatment recommendations if therapy has not been helpful in alleviating symptoms. You may want to note that NPT or PT is rarely considered medically necessary for assessment of uncomplicated cases of attention deficit disorder with/without hyperactivity (ADHD).  Examples of situations for which NPT may be necessary include, but are not limited to:
